Oliver Lindsay

I am a graphic designer and strategist with a user focus and a commercial mindset. I specialise in aligning creative to business strategy to help brands become more distinctive and effective. I am experienced at operationalising the creative function, developing visual systems and working across teams to deliver a consistent brand experience.

My background is in art and design but after completing a business course for designers I have enjoyed diving deeper into what makes businesses tick. This experience changed how I think about even the smallest creative decisions; focusing on how and where to channel resources to create the most value. I believe in the power of design to help solve business problems in addition to delivering great brand experiences.

 
 

Making AI more human

Recently I have been helping applied AI company Tractable raise their game after achieving unicorn status.

Tractable are all about efficiency; using machine learning and computer vision to improve the end-to-end experience for businesses and their customers in the insurance industry. However, the offering and the vision were more human – they help people protect what they care about. That formed the essence of the identity. It was a delight to host a number of world-class agencies to bring the new brand to life, including Pentagram, AKQA, Amy Joycey and Flow.
